
Getting Your KTK Oval Printer Back Up to Speed: The Truth About Replacement Lamps
If you’ve ever tried to swap out infrared lamps in a KTK oval printer, you know it’s not as simple as just matching a wattage number on a box. It’s frustrating when you buy a “replacement” only to find it doesn’t actually fit. Maybe it’s a hair too long, or the connectors are just slightly off. We’ve been there. That’s why we build our tubes to be true 1:1 replacements. No hacking the machine, no custom brackets, and no headaches. The fit has to be perfect. We’re talking millimeters here. If a lamp is off by even 2mm, it either won’t sit right in the brackets or—even worse—you’ll feel that quartz glass snap during installation. That’s a nightmare nobody wants. Your heat needs to keep up. There’s nothing worse than starting a big run and realizing the first few shirts didn’t cure because the lamps were still warming up. Plus, we center those filaments precisely so you don’t end up with weird cold spots on your prints. A quick tip before you plug them in… We use standard industrial connectors, so you can just wire them up and get back to work. It’s a simple swap. But here’s the thing: these lamps put out a ton of intense, localized heat. That’s great for production, but it’s hard on your reflectors. Before you slide the new tubes in, take a look at your reflectors. If they’re pitted, oxidized, or just plain dirty, you’re wasting money. A bad reflector kills your heat output, no matter how good the lamp is. Give them a check first—you’ll get way more bang for your buck.
