Material and Design: Carbon Fiber and SK15/R7s

Inside, you’ve got a carbon fiber filament living inside a halogen-filled quartz envelope. That setup keeps the filament steady even when things get scorching, so output stays consistent over long runs. The halogen cycle also fights blackening, which helps the lamp hold its rated output longer than standard IR lamps. And the SK15 base with an R7s connector? It’s a straight swap. Wire it the same way—no re-engineering needed. One note: the quartz tube is tough, but treat it like glass. One solid hit and the filament goes poof, instantly.

Application and Benefits

This lamp shines for industrial heating—think PET blowing, plastic thermoforming, and curing adhesives. It throws shortwave infrared right where you need it, so response is quick and warm-up lag disappears. The SK15 form factor also slips neatly into crowded machine cells. Now, the trade-off is heat density. You get that rapid heating, sure, but you’ve got to manage the localized temperature. Shield and cool properly to keep nearby parts safe.

Reality Check: Thermal Management

A 2500W, 400V lamp throws off a lot of radiant energy. Mount it with plenty of clearance and use reflectors to steer the heat where you want it. If your cooling is undersized, the area around the lamp will roast your wiring and sensors. So plan the thermal path before you even start wiring.
