A Few Things to Watch Out For
These lamps are powerful. Really powerful. Because they put out so much heat, you can’t just “set it and forget it.” You need to make sure your cooling fans or heat sinks are actually doing their job. If the back of the housing isn’t breathing, that heat is going to soak right back into your machine frame. Before you know it, your mounting brackets are warping or your thermal sensors are tripping. And please,**keep them clean.**A single fingerprint or a smudge of oil on that gold reflector creates a tiny hot spot. That’s how you get a cracked quartz tube.
